Why would an executive chef run for office? Francesca Hong, a chef and a restaurateur, took a long look at the service industry during the COVID-19 pandemic. She observed how restaurants treated these hard workers as if they were disposable. She decided to shake up the status quo and run for State Representative to change restaurant industry standards. Today, Francesca is a Wisconsin Assemblywoman. She now stumps for underrepresented communities and she is not afraid to unsettle short-sighted lawmakers in the Capitol.
