American star Serena Williams is saying her farewell to tennis. The 40-year-old Williams told Vogue magazine she doesn't like the word "retirement," but wants to focus on having another child and her business interests.
The U.S. Open, which begins August 29 in New York, is expected to be her final tournament. Serena Williams is playing this week in Toronto, Canada. On Wednesday's show, Sonny will have reaction from tennis fans in Toronto, as well as in southern California, where Serena and her older sister, Venus, first learned to play the sport.
Also on the program, we'll hear from Begay Downes Thomas, a spokesperson for the SEED Basketball Academy in Senegal. The academy is celebrating its 20th anniversary this month.
