This isn’t just any parade—it’s New York City’s famous Village Halloween Parade. Located in NYC's downtown area, the parade winds through the West Village, a historic center for New York’s Gay community where the parade was first established in 1974.

More than 50 marching bands and countless individuals join this spontaneous spectacle. Individual marchers can just show up in costume at the starting point without registering or paying anything.

The theme for the 2024 Parade is "MEOW." Organizers invited participants and spectators to embrace their inner cat by dressing in tails and whiskers, inspired by classic Halloween icons like witches and black cats.
