((INTRO))
[[Women’s soccer in the U.S. has been on the rise, bringing more girls than ever into the fold. Thai American Madison Casteen embraced soccer at a young age and aims to be one of the few Asian Americans to break into the professional leagues. Warangkana Chomchuen has the story, narrated by Neetikarn Kamlangwan.]]
((Narrator))
Confidence, fun, and flair are what coaches say Thai American Madison Casteen brings to soccer – be it at a high school tournament or at the ECNL, a national youth soccer league in the United States.

16-year-old Madison Casteen played for Thailand’s national team in this year’s Under-17 Women’s Asian World Cup tournament in Indonesia. She scored 4 goals and even though her team didn’t win, she says the experience was special.

"It was not real to me. I would have never thought in my life that I would have made a debut for a national team, especially a Thai national team, and scoring a goal in my debut."
((NATURAL SOUND)) Voice off screen:
“Number six, Madison Casteen”
((Narrator))
In the United States she plays as a forward at her high school, Wesleyan Christian Academy, and for NC Fusion, a premier soccer club in North Carolina coached by John Pardini.

“I've seen the most growth in her maturity with how she approaches training, with how she looks at the game, and with how she's evolving as a player.”
((NATURAL SOUND)) Voice off screen:
“Other way, Madison!”
((Narrator))
((Mandatory CG: Danny Casteen))
Casteen began playing soccer at the age of four and it quickly became her passion. These days, she trains 8-10 hours a week. (Is it ok I added this to transition to the soundbite?)

“It's not what other people see on the field, but it's how much you work when no one is watching. So, it's like working on days your friends are going out and then working on days that you've already trained but you want more.”
((Narrator))
This summer, Casteen has been offered a spot at NC Fusion to compete in the USL W, a pre-professional women’s soccer league in the U.S. It’s a step closer to her dream of playing professionally.
((Narrator))
((Mandatory CG: Reuters))
So far, only a few Asian American female players have made it to the roster of the U.S. Women’s national soccer team or played in the National Women's Soccer League.
Casteen says she’s eager to take on this challenge.
((Madison Casteen, NC Fusion Soccer Player))
"I don't see myself as different from anyone else...It's not about how you look, it's about how hard you work and how good you are and how much you leave on the field."
((NATURAL SOUND))
Madison Casteen to girls: “Pull. Inside.”
((Narrator))
Casteen says she’s excited to be part of developing women’s soccer – a sport that’s not only becoming more popular but also making a positive impact on girls.
