But now with the convenience of the internet and other tools women, especially mothers with young children find working from home more appealing. Hi everyone, I am Auriane Itangishaka. With me are my co-host Simegnish Yakoye and Ginny Niwa. Today we’re going to discuss available options for moms who long for jobs with flexible schedules. SHORT CHAT [[Host 1]] [[CAM 4 Auriane]] Ladies let’s be honest, what if you could work less hours a day and spend more time with your family - especially your children, even if it meant taking a pay cut, would you do it? [[HOST 3]] [[CAM 1 Simegnish]] In my view …… [[HOST 2]] [[CAM 2 Niwa]] I think SHOW MAIN INTRO [[HOST 1]] [[CAM 4 Auriane]] VO The African Union’s Digital Transformation Strategy states that “Innovations and digitalization are stimulating job creation and contributing to addressing poverty, reducing inequality, facilitating the delivery of goods and services, while also contributing to the achievement of it’s Agenda 2063.” With the convenience of the internet and other tools, remote jobs are lately becoming increasingly available. Thus, the idea of making money while working from home is becoming more appealing to women – especially those with children. However, some mothers are still hesitant to abandon their 9 to 5 jobs due to lack of information on where to start or which jobs generate a good incomes. On this week’s episode of “Our Voices” we look at ways mothers can continue to contribute financially to their households without sacrificing much time away from their children. We will hear tips from mothers who have achieved this objective, the jobs and companies with the flexibilities that mothers long for in order to spend time with their children, especially during tender years. Bahij says she has managed to find fulfillment in digital work, with fewer constraints.
