Analyst: Peaceful Resolution of Niger Crisis Possible
August 11, 2023

But Ibrahima Kane says the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) is also determined to stop the proliferation of coups in the sub-region. This comes as ECOWAS Thursday ordered its standby force to restore constitutional order in Niger. He tells Daybreak Africa host James Butty, that even though the military junta has mobilized the population, it also realizes that there is little or no support in Africa for its coup.
