A profile of Soviet scientist Sergey Kovalev and chairman of the Russian Society Memorial. He joined the human and civil rights movement in 1956 and co-founded the Human Rights Group in 1969. He was arrested and sentenced in 1975. His son Ivan and daughter-in-law Tatiana were sent to labor camps in 1981. For his 80th birthday, Kovalev received, as a present, documents from his Criminal Case # 423.
