After a thirteen year hiatus, the hit comedy series “Welcome to Kikidéni" is set to return to TV screens in 2023, offering the Burkinabè society an outlet for laughter. According to actor and director Aminata Diallo-Glez, the series addresses insecurity, religious fundamentalism, pandemics, tolerance, feminism, and other sensitive issues “in a comic tone, with a lot of humor”. Making light of these serious problems in the country, the show follows the rivalries between a village leader, an imam, and a priest whose squabbles provide a gently satirical take on the Burkinabè society.
