Analysis: Zimbabwe General Elections Amid Economic Crisis, Soaring Inflation

Zimbabwe’s general elections are scheduled for August 23, to elect the president and members of both houses of Parliament. The ruling party, ZANU PF, and the leading opposition party, Citizens Coalition for Change, CCC, are exploring all avenues to persuade voters ahead of the general election.
The election is set to take place amid an economic crisis and soaring inflation rates, which has made it difficult for ordinary citizens to afford daily necessities.
