  • Since the start of the conflict in Sudan, many media outlets have withdrawn much of their local news coverage in the country but a group of Sudanese media trackers are stepping in. BeamReports, a Sudanese-executive community of data journalists, media verifiers, and stringers are helping to contextualize and fact-check government statements, international media, and widely circulated online claims on Instagram, Facebook, and WhatsApp. For more on the group, VOA’s Anthony LaBruto spoke to the founder, Raghdan Orsud.
