Gail Motloung, a South African alumni of the U.S. sponsored Mandela Washington Fellowship and the founder of “Girl with a Purpose Foundation,” is among over 700 young African leaders that are in Washington for a three-day networking summit focused on strengthening ties between youth on the continent and reputable U.S. firms.
In an interview with VOA’s Mike Hove Motloung said the fellowship is positively impacting Africa, quoting an example of how she was inspired to launch her organization that is empowering women, the girl child and addressing gender-based violence in South Africa.
