Analysis: US Military Conducts Airstrike Against Al-Shabab Fighters

The United States military on Sunday carried out three airstrikes against al-Shabab fighters in Somalia, killing 10 militants overnight.
The U.S. Africa Command, AFRICOM, said the collective self-defense airstrikes were conducted in support of the Somali National Army who were engaged by al-Shabab. AFRICOM also said the strikes took place in a remote area near the city of Afmadow, in the lower Juba region, at the request of Somalia's federal government.
