1. (SOUNDBITE) (German) MARTINA VOSS-TECKLENBURG, GERMAN COACH, SAYING:
"That's if you want to see it as a disaster, in terms of sports hard to argue against it. What it's about is to rise again and not just give up. We love this sport and of course you're not going to expect a deep analysis, we need to let it sink in, we need to work with what happened. We know you can look at it critically that we use them as fullbacks, you can do that of course, but that's some input we'll accept, we'll think about alternatives. But again I don't want to look for excuses for anything, we created the formation in the way we thought was best and if the result isn't what you want then of course you've got to accept that responsibility.

3. (SOUNDBITE) (German) MARTINA VOSS-TECKLENBURG, GERMAN COACH, SAYING:
"I think overall we never really found our game the way we know we can otherwise, and we didn't find the security, we weren't able to score ultimately and we weren't able to play the game in the way that we showed that we can. Of course it's very difficult to think about this immediately after the match, whether we may be too careful in some process, but I don't want to look for excuses so please don't expect that I'm going to provide you with an analysis, how we'll continue in the future, where we start to work. Today there were certain aspects missing, there were aspects lacking, there was maybe precision as one thing, maybe we were a bit too uptight, maybe we were trying to force things. There was more the feeling that there's something missing, there's great intention but sometimes that also led to us losing this sort of ease and confidence. And that's of course something that I want to discuss with each player and also with the team overall, as our team of coaches will also talk about what happened, what we could have done better but we could have done differently and that's something we always do. But of course that's not something that I can do an hour and a half after we are exiting after the group stage. Of course I'm disappointed and I'm also frustrated because we were expecting more of us and that's very clear."

5. (SOUNDBITE) (German) ALEXANDRA POPP, GERMAN CAPTAIN, SAYING:
"To be honest it is extremely difficult for me off the cuff to give you an analysis here. It's obvious this was not ideal, I think we are all aware of that. You have seen it anyway and besides that it is really difficult for me right now to give you some in-depth analysis. There was at least one girl missing which did create this problem."

7. (SOUNDBITE) (German) ALEXANDRA POPP, GERMAN CAPTAIN, SAYING:
"No we didn't know that during half-time. During the second half we were informed that we needed urgently to score and after that I think we have shown strong desire, the grit to go for a goal, but somehow it just didn't want to go there."
