Eswatini Rights Coalition Protests Lack of Medical Care

In Eswatini, pro-democracy groups, churches, and unions will deliver a petition to the country’s Human Rights Commission concerning what they say is the government’s failure to provide needed medicines for hospital patients. According to the group, there are no drugs in the public hospitals and patients are required to bring their own medicine. Bheki Mamba, president of the Trade Union Congress of Swaziland, says they are petitioning the Human Rights Commission because health is a human rights.
