Boko Haram: Journey from Evil shows that despite being mired in conflict and nearly a decade of suffering, not all is lost in Nigeria.
Drawing on 18 hours of secret Boko Haram videos obtained by the Voice of America, VOA documents the brutality of life for people living under Boko Haram – and the inspirational actions of three ordinary Nigerians who are determined to stand against them. The “Queen Hunter” who leads patrols to track and apprehend Boko Haram fighters and rescue scores of abducted women and girls; a social media activist who has raised money and awareness in support of the Chibok schoolgirls; and an amateur photographer in conflict-ridden Borno State whose portraits of Nigerians uprooted by the 8-year insurgency provide an arresting visual history of suffering, survival and reconciliation. The total running time is 55 minutes with 5 minutes for sponsored commercials and/or station promotions.
