Ukraine Stands - Anniversary of the Russian Invasion
February 24, 2023
Andrea Kendall-Taylor, senior fellow and director of the Transatlantic Security Program at the Center for a New American Security (CNAS), and Will Pomeranz, director of the Kennan Institute at the Wilson Center, discuss the state of play in Ukraine on the anniversary of Russia’s invasion with host Carol Castiel. The war will continue for an unspecified length of time, but Kendall-Taylor says it reflects a “strategic failure” for Moscow and Pomeranz says that “the Western alliance has held together because Vladimir Putin is fighting an imperial war at a time when the West thought that the age of imperialism was long relegated to the history books.”
