Ghanaian-American Actor/Comedian Michael Blackson Talks Career and Opening Free School in Ghana

Hollywood actor and comedian Michael Blackson who refers to himself as a child of ECOWAS [referring to the Economic Community of West African States] has opened a free school in his home village of Agona Nsaba in the Central region of Ghana. Blackson was born in Liberia, grew up in Ghana, and Nigeria but moved to America as a teenager. In a wide-ranging conversation with VOA’s Jackson Mvunganyi, Blackson says that he believes in the power of education, and he plans to build more free schools in the West African region.
