El estudio de los CDC afirma que las causas de fallecimiento varían entre consecuencias graves de salud con afectación grave en distintos órganos del cuerpo.

“La cirrosis hepática tiende a presentarse y los síntomas son más visibles en comparación con la pancreatitis… puedes tener una pancreatitis hemorrágica, te comienza un dolor abdominal y tienes que ir de inmediato al hospital y la probabilidad de fallecer es mucho más elevada si no es tratada, que la cirrosis”

Ambas expertas coinciden en la disociación de conducta que genera el alcohol, conllevando a la imprudencia en el manejo de vehículos y los accidentes de transito como otra causa de muerte contemplada en el informe.
Los CDC contabilizan 49 000 estadounidenses que murieron por causas al consumo de licor en 2020. Investigadores afirman que esta tendencia puede ser sostenida y mayor en 2021.
