The shooter behind these heart-wrenching scenes was reportedly motivated by other killings he had read about on the internet, such as the mass shooting in Christchurch, New Zealand, in 2019, where a gunman opened fire on two mosques, killing over 50 people.
The shooting has frightened and angered many in the predominantly Black neighborhood where it occurred.
