Transcript/Script EnglishFor VOA, Yan Boechat reports on the scene Saturday from the town of Irpin, about 25 kilometers north of Kyiv, where Russian troops and Ukrainian soldiers are engaged in fierce fighting. Yan was able to get inside the town and reach the last Ukrainian position very close to the Russian troops.
There is some footage from the town itself, shelters where civilians are hiding from the bombardment (with some interviews in Russian; civilian translations but no translation), a few shots from the frontline (though with not explicit or graphic content). Also, there’s some footage of civilians fleeing the frontline area on the destroyed bridge that links Irpin to Kyiv.
